I am an educator that is dedicated to creating a sense of belonging in my students by ensuring they feel safe and heard while in my presence. I believe that students learn best when they feel comfortable in their learning environment, which is why I am dedicated to creating a positive space for every kind of learning need. I hope my future students feel comfortable being themselves, making mistakes, asking questions, and having fun while learning. This is something I lacked while I was in school, and my learning experience was hindered because of it. I never want to be the reason behind a student’s negative learning experience, I hope I can be a safe space for them and someone that they know will always be there to support them and cheer them on. I want to give my students meaningful and inclusive education that looks at content through as many lenses as possible and offers multiple entry points for different kinds of learners. I want to be the kind of teacher that I wish I had growing up, as someone that was shy and scared to be in a learning space.
